Taking a different look at things today, I’ve updated the We Can Solve It lens and the Al Gore - SuperHero with his challenge to the Nation speech from yesterday. The Al Gore - SuperHero lens was created for the SuperHero project to spread the word about the We Can Solve It Campaign.
In his speech Former Vice President Al Gore called for a “man on the moon” approach to the solving the problem of global warming. He challenged the nation to take bold steps towards solving the climate crisis.
You can view excerpts from the speech or the full speech on both lenses.
I am glad that I am finally going to see Mamma Mia this afternoon. I need a bit of escapism in these dark times.

I was surprised to see that I currently have three lenses in the top four at the top of the SquidFlix, the Squidoo co-branding that allows you to critique, review and rate movies.

My top SquidFlix lenses are
1. Ever After - A Cinderella Story
2. Mamma Mia! The Movie
4. We love Disney’s Enchanted
Mamma Mia will be coming out on Friday. I can hardly wait.
Top of Non-Profit
I also happened to discover that my SuperHero lens on Amy Jaffe Barzach and the Boundless Playgrounds is the Number 1 in topic for Non-Profits.

I was a bit surprised when I checked the Dashboard today to discover that I have four lenses in the Top 100! Considering that there are over 500,000 lenses, I am very happy.
Two of the lenses are from my Grief and Loss topics that have slowly been rising in the lens rankings over time:
Two of the lenses are ones that I created for the Squidoo SuperHero Project and have been featured as lenses of the day:
I had to take a screen shot to mark the occasion, since it may not happen again (for a while).

I am hoping that the lens rankings are all sorted out now. I don’t believe it is a fluke.

The Giant Squids are the elite squad of the best and most prolific lensmasters on Squidoo.
Thanks to all for the honor.

I just discovered that the Squidoo SuperHero Project Lens has been named the Lens of the Day for June 30, 2008. (So far it’s hit the dashboard, but not the LOTD Blog.)
Needless to say I am rather excited that my efforts to promote and help the SuperHero Project have been recognized.
I hope that the LOTD status will help bring some recognition to the project.
Who knows, maybe someone will be inspired to make 5 lenses before the July 1, 2008 deadline for submitting charity lenses.

The man who brutally attacked Lauren Huxley received a sentence of 24 years this morning. He smashed her skull and face with a metal tool and tried to destroy evidence by dousing her in petrol and setting the house alight. Lauren didn’t know him - it was possibly a random attack.

Loss, Grief and Bereavement - Number 1 in HealthÂ

My Loss, Grief and Bereavement Lens has finally made it to the # 1 spot in Health and Medicine. The lens has been the top spot in Health and Medicine since May 29, 2008.
It has not been an easy task, since Frankster’s Long Term Care For People You Love lens is on another important topic.
I am really very happy about the lens getting to the top of the health topics.
This is quite an accomplishment for me if you consider I’ve spent more than 10 years trying to get the medical profession to recognize that Loss, Grief and Bereavement are issues that impact people’s health and well being.
Thanks to all who visited and voted.

We’re All Winners - Mini Presentation
I was hoping with the new Squidtop, that I might be able to share a new Mini Presentation that I developed for the We’re All Winners page. Unfortunately it appears that the Squidoo ban on embedding objects extends to Squidtop.

The We’re All Winners mini presentation is available for viewing on .docstoc.
We’re All Winners
“We’re All Winners” was developed when my daughters were in preschool as an educational activity to let young children:
Enjoy and have fun being physically active
Participate in a non-racing, solo running activity
Experience the elation of winning
The main goal of the event is to create an environment in which each child gets to feel special, like a winner.
Each child goes home feeling and believing for at least one day that
“I’m a Winner!”

Giant Squid Discovered at IKEA
When we were at IKEA yesterday, my daughter’s came running up to find me…they were very excited to discover a Giant Squid Office set up.

With a desk on one wall and the Giant Squid, Dresser, Storage and Lights on another, my family decided that this would be the perfect environment for me to work on my Squidoo stuff.

Too bad the Giant Squid wasn’t for sale.

Welcome to Comfortdoc on Squidoo.
I’ve setup the Squidtop blog to keep you posted on the Latest New Lenses, News Updates and Notes from Comfortdoc / Lensdoc.
Squidtop looks like it is going to be a great new addition to the tools available to Squidoo lensmasters to help get the word out about new lenses and updates to our lenses.
A big thanks to Loyalis et al. on another developing another great Squidoo resource for the lensmasters.
News Updates
Learning about blogging and the blogosphere is one of my goals for the summer. I’ve been actively blogging on two blogs this month, both of which had challenges.
The first is Ruminations of an Online Instructor / MD, the edublog that I set up in April, which thankfully is also in Wordpress, so I’m familiar with the format.
The second is My Green Doc Blog that I set up in honor of Earth Day.
I’ll be posting updates and new lenses as they become available.

I’ve just joined Squidtop!
It looks like this is going to be a great way to ‘help showoff their newest lenses, and brag about their Squidoo progress.”
Congrats to Loyalis et al. on another great Squidoo product.
